About Irma Relief Ministry

IrmaRelief.faith is an ecumenical group of Christians doing our best to share the love of Christ as we put feet to our words, becoming the Body of Christ in Action. Please visit the website for more information on our forms of outreach, our projects, testimonies and staff. We have seen volunteers, weekend mission teams, pastors and priests from the Roman Catholic Church, the Greek Orthodox church, The Episcopal church(TEC), the ACNA- Anglican Church in this country and Canada, the Southern Baptist and Independent church, UMC, Lutherans, Presbyterians, charismatic, non-charismata churches, Independent churches, Bible churches and everything in between.

As the eye of Hurricane Irma passed over High Springs, FL, (still a category II storm) Rev. Smith was moved of God to do what he could to assist with the relief efforts of victims across the state of Florida.

The ministry is ecumenical working with and through the local church. Bases of Operations are established throughout affected areas where mission teams are sent to assist with physical, emotional and spiritual needs of victims. Irma Relief has been assisted by over 200 volunteers from 12 Dioceses, 8 states and Canada.

Bishop Neil Lebhar, Gulf Atlantic Diocese (ACNA) soon recognized the effectiveness of the IrmaRelief ministry and its volunteers. Bishop Lebhar appointed Rev. Smith the Disaster Relief Coordinator for his diocese on October 28th, 2017.

After assisting over 2500 people in N.E. Florida the IrmaRelief ministry moved to its south Florida Base of Operations in Miami. We work with other Christian Ministries, Agencies, Radio Stations and churches to assist as many families as possible. Funding is entirely through donations- private, in kind and through the Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF).

This is a ministry of Christian compassion sharing the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ as we serve the needs of thousands across the state.
